June 2010 Newsletter

Notice: Open 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., New Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. (closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Stats: May 2010: Families in (469), New included in count (47), Families Not Helped (11), Families Helped (458), Total in Families (1710), Food (414), Clothing (128), Utilities (42), Medical (10), Lodging (0), Transportation (7), Other (54).

 

GOOD SAM’S “BLESSINGS”:

1. Highland Baptist: VBS kids having a food drive for us.

2. Claude Taylor for all his dedication of serving on our board so faithfully. Claude resigned but found a replacement. Doyle Keeton (our fork-lift operator for the Food Bank Truck), is taking his place. Claude will continue to stock our pantry for many seasons!

3. FirstBank Southwest for their food collection.

4. Bethany Bible Class for $100 of Cheese & Macaroni

5. First Christian Church for their continued support, also for Sue Smith, their “Super Shopper

6. That St. Matt’s continues to support us and “feed us” on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. (Yum)

7. That 20 churches believe in Good Sam’s and continue to support our efforts.

 

Our Special “THANKS”:

1. High Plains Food Bank for Wonderful “freebies” - Sodas, juice, cherries, mangoes, onions and sacked potatoes!!!!

2. All our volunteers for working so hard, filling in for vacations, unloading food trucks and about 40 other chores.

3. Our May Board meeting: 14 members present representing 10 churches. Does your church need a representative????

4. Mrs. Baird’s for the many bread products and sweets.

5. Allsups for the cases of  Ramon Noodles.
